The sisterhood of chaos

She’s your sister, not your competition

Ever wondered why us girls are still fighting so hard for our dreams and rights?
From not being able to wear what we really feel like wearing to not being able to speak our thoughts out, ah! the list is almost never ending.

There was a phase in my life when I thought us women are being limited solely because of all the men out there. Well that thought expired years back.
At present, it’s no big secret that us girls are our own worst enemies.
A girl coming up, unfortunately, is seen as a threat to the rest of the girls.
Yes, we advocate feminism,
Yes, we preach sisterhood,
Yes, we hashtag “womensupportingwomen”,

Only in our reels and stories though.

The reality however is so contradictorily different.

From “Is she smarter than me” to “Is she prettier than me”, us girls are so much into our own selves that we cannot really open our eyes and look what we are doing to the rest of us.

Why do men enjoy so much of freedom as compared to us women?

Is it because us girls are so competitive?

But aren’t men competitive too?

Oh yes they are.

However, in all my twenty years of life I have never heard a guy criticize another guy for what he wore.
I have never seen them being so jealous that they sit and plot for years on how to take each other down.

In short, they are more logical when it comes to competition.

Dear girls, it is high time we realise what we are doing to our own tribe.

If you see someone pretty, admire her, compliment her,

If you see a girl so confidently expressing herself, cheer for her,

And if you see a girl, struggling, with her wings all tied up, help her untie,

Help her fly,

Who knows, that one flight could possibly change not just hers but the rest of our lives as well.

Cheers.
